Recycle your Christmas tree

Christmas Treecycling is a way Montgomery, Parke, and Putnam County residents can give back to the Earth. By recycling their holiday trees, residents help divert landfill-bound Christmas trees to fish/ wildlife habitats, erosion control, and mulch for trees and walking paths.

Residents can recycle live Christmas trees free of charge Dec. 26 – last weekend in January, at the following locations: Greencastle or Crawfordsville Yard Waste Sites, Raccoon Lake State Recreation Area, Rockville Lake Park, or Lieber State Park. Look for signs on where to drop trees at park locations.

Please remove all decorations and do not leave plastic bags or trash on site. No artificial trees please. West Central Solid Waste District thanks you for helping to protect and preserve our environment! District program information is available at www.westcentralswd.com.
