SAWs is a mission of the Greencastle Presbyterian Church that has been providing handicap ramps, steps and safety rails to disabled residents in Putnam County for the past nine years. This work is provided to most recipients at no cost, and SAWs never charges for labor. Since the launch of the mission in 2009, SAWs has helped 159 handicapped residents in Putnam County, including 22 in 2017.

Gobin’s small grants program offers a maximum of $1,000 per year per organization and will be awarded quarterly. The purpose of the grant program is to maintain and grow strong local mission and service projects that provide hope and support to individuals struggling with personal, spiritual, emotional, or economic issues.

Organizations and programs looking to apply for the next grant can visit www.gobinumc.org/ community-small-grants. The deadline for the next grant will be April 15.

As SAWs starts its 10th year of service, it is once again looking for Putnam County residents that need help. Those who have difficulties accessing their homes are the main clients of SAWs. If you are in need of a ramp, please contact SAWs at 765-653- 5713 or churchoffice@cinergymetro.net.
