During the third period, senior Jalen Moore went to the free throw line for two shots, the first brought his Cloverdale career total to 1999. Then came the 2000th. Cloverdale fans lept to their feet screaming and waving banners of 2000, including Jalen’s father, William Moore Jr., and his brother, William Moore III.

The Knights Athletic Director Charlie Jackson gave the game ball, with which he made the point, to Jalen and congratulated him on his achievement. Then, Cloverdale Athletic Director James Wade, along with coach Pat Rady, Cloverdale Principal Sonny Stoltz and Superintendent Greg Linton congratulated Jalen while the Knights announced his achievement to the fans.

“Nice to see Jalen’s hard work pay off,” coach Pat Rady said after the game. “There is a lot of unseen hours where Jalen has put in time developing his skill. Something that often gets overlooked with Jalen is his competitiveness. He is out to win games. This is evident during his run of scoring 2,000 points. Our record is 75-25 over the four seasons that he has played at Cloverdale. In my mind, he is worthy of making the Indiana All- Stars.”

During the home game on Saturday, Jan. 27, Wade presented Moore with a basketball commemorating his accomplishment.

“It is a great achievement for Jalen to reach 2000 points,” Wade said. “He has worked extremely hard spending hours in the gym working at game speed. We are very proud of him and his accomplishment and look forward to watching him add to his total and compete the rest of the season.”

Congratulations Jalen Moore on an outstanding achievement and good luck on your future endeavors!
