Cunot-Cataract burglary suspect sentenced to DOC

Corbin Lee Farley Corbin Lee Farley Corbin Lee Farley, age 18 of Poland, was sentenced on Feb. 13 in the Owen Circuit Court I after pleading guilty as charged to burglary while armed with a deadly weapon, a level 2 felony. The charge stemmed from a five month long investigation conducted by the Owen County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the probable cause affidavit submitted by Captain Detective Erich Teuton, on June 11, 2017, in the early morning hours, officers were dispatched to a burglary at a residence on Cunot- Cataract Road. The reporting party advised that the suspects had fled his home after he discharged his firearm. Once officers arrived at the residence, they immediately began processing the scene and collecting evidence. Over the next five months, information concerning the suspects trickled in and ultimately officers obtained arrest warrants for the two suspects.

According to Owen County Prosecutor Don VanDerMoere, Farley admitted during the sentencing hearing that he committed the burglary with his co-defendant, Christopher Campbell. Farley provided a detailed account regarding the planning and execution phases of the burglary. As a result of his plea, Farley was sentenced to twenty seven years at the Department of Corrections with twelve years executed and the remaining time suspended to probation. Terms of probation include paying restitution, attending and completing counseling, and abiding by a no-contact order with the victim.
