Food Pantry says thanks

Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor,

The Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry, Board of Directors and other volunteers thank the Putnam County community, churches, organizations, businesses, schools and DePauw University for their continuing support to the Emergency Food Pantry here in our county.

As of today, the Emergency Food Pantry has served 3,403 households in 2017. Food for three meals for three days is given for each person in a household when there is a need for assistance.

We have households consisting of one person and as many as twelve people. The numbers for meals are very close to 104,526 for this year.

There have been 307 new people added to our numbers in 2017.

The donations are our only source of income. Having read the previous numbers, it is understandable the gratitude we feel to every source of donations. Serving these numbers, requires a lot of food and money to purchase food.

The pantry is located at 309 East Franklin Street in Greencastle and can be reached by phone at 765-301- 4431. Hours are Mondays and Tuesdays 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The mailing address is P.O, Box 423, Greencastle, Indiana 46135.

Respectfully,
Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry
Board of Directors and other volunteers
