Learning Series starts March 13

Registration is now open for the 2018 Nonprofit Learning Series Workshops. This year’s series is filled with new speakers bringing innovative takes on today’s most pressing nonprofit issues.

Geared toward community leaders who staff or volunteer with nonprofit organizations, churches, and units of government, and wish to build their knowledge and skills in areas of leadership, finances, marketing and more. This series offers extended networking and peer learning opportunities.

The Putnam- Montgomery Learning Series is brought to you by The Putnam County Community Foundation and the Montgomery County Community Foundation, with special thanks to sponsors Hendricks Power Cooperative and Hoosier Heartland State Bank, in conjunction with Indiana United Ways.

The remainder of the spring workshops, March, April, and May, will be held in Crawfordsville at the Crawfordsville Country Club. The fall workshops, August, September, October, and November, will be held in Greencastle at the Inn at DePauw. Individual workshops cost $15 per session and includes lunch.

The spring schedule includes the following workshops:

• March 13 – Marketing Magic: Leslie Galbreath, dgs Marketing Engineers. Good marketing is more than a slick ad or a well-placed billboard. It takes messaging that resonates and intentionality. Not a how-to, but a hands-on, this session will walk you through creating a realistic marketing and communications schedule that your organization can actually execute.

• April 10 – Measure What Matters: Laura Macknick, Macknick Philanthropy Advisors. While the money your organization raises or the number of people who benefit from your services is important, the difference you make is the metric that will really make yours a stand out organization! Learn simple but powerful ways to evaluate impact and communicate it to others.

• May 8 – From Paper to Practice: Tonja Stokes, Indiana United Ways. Have you sat through strategy session after strategy session only to have your strategic plan end up as a door stop? Dust it off, give it a re-read, then join us to get real advice about how to actually implement your strategic plan and see some results!
