Schedule a free car seat check

Riley Physicians, in partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, is offering free car seat safety checks to parents, guardians, grandparents, childcare providers and anyone who drives children in a vehicle.

The Car Seat Check Clinic team takes vital information into account during car seat checks. Each inspection can take 30 minutes and includes access to valuable information and resources to help keep your child safe. Please bring the following items to your car seat check:

- The car seat

- Instruction manual for the vehicle

-Instruction manual for the car seat

- The child

To schedule a car seat check in Putnam County, call Tom Sutherlin to set up appointment at 765-653-2925. Appointments will be held at the Greencastle Police Department, 600 N. Jackson Street, Greencastle.

All children less than eight years of age are required by Indiana’s child passenger safety law to be properly restrained in a federally approved child restraint system, and children from eight to 15 years-of-age need to be properly restrained in a child restraint or seat belt.
