Scholarships available from Master Gardeners

Are you, or do you know, a high school student or a college student who intends to go to college this fall and major in a gardening-related field?

The Putnam County Master Gardeners’ scholarship program is once again offering two $1,000 scholarships for students who plan to major in a field such as agriculture, horticulture, plant science, botany, forestry, landscape architecture/design or something else related to gardening.

Students interested in applying may be high school seniors, or they may be students already attending an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.

To qualify, an applicant must be a resident of Putnam County and must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Their applications must also include a grade transcript and a letter of recommendation from their high school teacher or their college professor.
