The Clover varsity baseball team hosted Southmont Thursday, April 19, and sent the Mounties home with a 15-1 loss.

“Nick Winders got the win as he pitched five innings,” Cloverdale Head Coach Kent Bass said. “He scattered four hits with four walks, half of each of those in the first to give up his only run. He then settled in the rest of the evening and took control.”

The Mounties scored one run in the top of the first and went scoreless the rest of the game. The Clovers plated six runs in the bottom of the second, seven in the bottom of the third and two more in the fourth for the 14-run win.

“The Clovers, on offense, had 13 hits and three walks to put up 15 runs on the board in the 15-1 win,” coach Bass said.

Parker Watts led the team with three hits, including a double. TJ Hagymasi had three hits, Nick Winders and Braydon Blevins two each and one hit from Jaren Rossok, Tyce Jackson and Zach Nees.
