Clover track & field competes at THN Patriot Invitational

The Cloverdale High School boys and girls track and field teams competed in the Patriot Invitational at Terre Haute North Saturday, April 14 amid dreary conditions.

“We had some good performances,” Clover head coach Andy Tyler said after the meet. “Tyler Kaeff was the overall 300 meter champion and Chelsea Edwards was the overall 800 meter champion. Lily Monnett, Kaya Daub, Jasmine Blankenship and Chase Ashcraft all had great performances.”

The Cloverdale girls team had small school event winners in Kenzie Stoltz in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.90 and Chelsea Edwards in the 800-meter run in 2:31.99.

The Clovers had several other top five finishes including Lilly Monnett second in the 3,200 meters and Madison Shoemaker second in discus. Monnett finished third in the 1,600 meters; Jasmine Blankenship was fourth in the 800-meters, Kaya Daub fourth in the 100-meter hurdles; and Kamrie Monnett fourth in the 300-meter hurdles. Alexa Winia finished fifth in the 300 hurdles, Kiera Rogers fifth in the 400-meter dash; Jessica Geiger fifth in high jump; and Shoemaker fifth in shot put.

In the boys’ competition, Tyler Kaeff won the 300-meter hurdles in 42.05 and was second in high jump. Andrew Monnett was third in the 300 hurdles and long jump. He finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles. Tray Dickison was fourth in shot put and Ray Bates fifth in the 800-meter run.
