Clover boys, girls track & field defeat Cascade, Tri-West and North Central

The Cloverdale track and field team hosted the Cascade Cadets and the Tri-West Bruins Thursday, April 26, coming away with wins in both the boys and girls divisions.

The CHS girls won with 73 points with Cascade second (53) and Tri-West third (27). The CHS boys finished with 96 points for first with the Cadets second (54) and the Bruins third (11).

Kenzie Stoltz had a great night for the Lady Clovers winning long jump with a distance of 15-2; pole vault (8-6); and the 100-meter hurdles (15.71).

Madison Shoemaker was first in discus with a throw of 92-4.5 and Alexa Wynia finished first in the 300-meter hurdles (55.23). Chelsie Edwards was first in the 800-meter run (2:31) and Lily Monnett finished first in the 3,200-meter run (13:07). The Clovers also picked up wins in the 4x800 and 4x400 relays.


Tyler Kaeff won four events for the Clovers, against Tri-West and Cascade, including the 110-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles, high jump and long jump.

In the boys competition, Tyler Kaeff led the way with four wins including long jump (17-11), high jump (6-2), 110-meter hurdles (14.98) and 300-meter hurdles (41.73).

Chase Ashcraft had wins in the 1,600-meter run (5:08) and the 3,200-meter run (11:34) and Trae Dickison won the shot put (39-11) and the discus (119-9.5). Blake Willis added a win for the Clovers in pole vault with a height of 12-6.

The 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams also won for Cloverdale.

The Clovers had numerous second place finishes including Andrew Monnett in long jump and 300 hurdles, Ray Bates in shot put, Jake Smith in pole vault, Abel Bates in the 800-meter run, and Seth Geiger in both the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs.

(Tyler) Kaeff broke 15 second in the 110-high hurdles. We have some athletes starting to figure out their events at the right time. (I’m) looking forward to the county meet.”

The Clovers will host the Rockville Rox on Thursday, May 3. The meet is set to begin at 5 p.m.

The Lady Clovers won with a score of 93 to 27 and the boys team picked up the win, 74-48.

“We had some good performances,” Cloverdale Head Coach Andy Tyler said. “They are getting excited about the big meets coming up at the end of the season.”

Cloverdale had wins in 14-of-15 events. Lily Monnett won the 100-meter dash in 13.93, the 1,600-meter run in 6:09, and the 300-meter hurdles in 57.32.

Mackenzie Stoltz won three events as well, including the 200-meter dash in 29.72, the 100-meter hurdles in 17.11, and the long jump with a distance of 14-3.

Chelsea Edwards won the 800-meter run in 2:34 and the 3,200-meter run in 13:05. Jasmine Blankenship was first in the 400-meter dash in 1:06, Madison Shoemaker picked up wins in shotput at 26-3 and discus at 84-7.

All three relay teams won for Cloverdale as well. The 4x800 team finished with a time of 13:09; the 4x400 team in 4:51; and the 4x100 team in 55.11.

The Cloverdale boys picked up wins in 10-of- 15 events. Event winners included Tyler Kaeff in the 110-meter hurdles (15.28), the 300-meter hurdles (41.37), and high jump (5-8); Elliott Williamson in the 400-meter dash (55.90), Abel Bates in the 800-meter run (2:18), and Chase Ashcraft in the 1,600-meter run (5:07).

Other winners were Seth Geiger in the 3,200-meter run (11:32) and Tray Dickinson in shot put (39- 3). The 4x800 relay team won with a time of 9:24 and the 4x400 relay team was a winner as well in 2:49.
