On Tuesday, May 8, the Cloverdale boys golf team hosted Clay City to taking on the visiting Eels and falling, 193-173.

Drew Boyette led the charge for the Clovers ,shooting a 39, and earning medalist honors.

“Drew played a very good round. He had one glitch, but otherwise was almost flawless,” Cloverdale Head Coach Doug Wokoun explained. “After his round in the Brownsburg Invitational Saturday (80), I think he is hitting his stride at just the right time.”

Jason Miller carded a 50, Michael Holsapple 51, Tyler Harrison 53, Wyatt Helterbrand 55 and Cody Morris 65.

“Jason is slowly starting to put things in place, but is still struggling to extend his play to a full round. He just needs to be persistent in his effort,” Wokoun continued. “Michael is making strides forward, but he continues to have new situations that he has to negotiate. As he gains experience, many of those situations will become more comfortable.

“Tyler has started to show a little more of what we expected, but he is still struggling with confidence. Wyatt had an up-and-down day. Consistency is also a key for his continued improvement.”
