The Cloverdale varsity softball team picked up a win in the Western Indiana Conference crossover game versus North Putnam Tuesday, May 15, 9-1.

Macie Couch tallied her 15th win of the season, striking out 10 batters.

“Cloverdale has won 11 in a row, and 13 of their last 14,” CHS coach Jim Spencer said. “Macie Couch did a good job on the mound with 10 strikeouts and helped the Clovers avoid a big offensive inning from North Putnam. Offensively, we continued to get multiple hits from numerous players and keep putting up runs in several innings during the game.”

The offense was led by Tori Combs with a single, a home run and two RBI. Morgan Goss finished with a single, a triple and an RBI; Couch two doubles; Kiley Shedron a single, a double and two RBI; Sky Lowe two singles and an RBI; Hannah Long two singles; and Dinah Bunch a single.

“This Thursday’s game with West Vigo will be senior night for Dinah Bunch, Hannah Long, and Kiley Shedron,” coach Spencer explained. “All three have started for four years and made significant contributions to our program. More importantly, all three have served as great examples of what Cloverdale softball expects from our players during practice and games to make everyone else better.”
