Clover baseball falls to Mounties

The Cloverdale varsity baseball team hosted the Southmont Mounties (10- 12-1) Thursday, May 17, falling 14-0.

The Mounties were able to plate one run in each of the first two innings, but broke the game wide open in the third, scoring nine runs. Southmont added three more runs in the fourth for insurance. For the game, the Mounties scored 14 runs off of 10 hits and committed two errors. Cloverdale finished with zero runs on three hits and committed four errors.

“Parker Watts threw two innings for sectional prep, giving up one earned run to take the loss,” CHS Head Coach Kent Bass said after the game.

The Clover offense was led by Tyce Jackson, Nick Smith, Braydon Blevins and Zach Smith.
