Clover boys track & field seventh at THN sectional

Kaeff, Monnett advance to regionals

The Cloverdale boys competed at the Terre Haute North track and field sectional recently, coming away with a seventh place finish.

The Clovers had three athletes competing in Thursday, May 24 track and field regional at Bloomington North High School by way of top three finishes at sectionals.

Tyler Kaeff finished second in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.00. He is seeded fourth at the regional.

Andrew Monnett also picked up a second place finish, placing second in the 300-meter hurdles in 42.43. Monnett is seeded eighth in that event.

Monnett finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdles.

The third Clover athlete to move on is Blake Willis in pole vault, finishing second at 12-6. He is tied for the second seed.

Several other Clovers competed in event finals at the sectional. They include Elliott Williamson 13th in the 400-meter dash; Ray Bates 10th and Brady Szczerbik 14th in the 800-meter run; Chase Ashcraft 13th and Seth Geiger 15th in the 1,600-meter run; and Ashcraft 12th and Geiger 15th in the 3,200-meter.

The CHS 4x800-meter relay team of Ashcraft, A. Bates, Geiger and Szczerbik placed sixth and the 4x100 relay team of Gerald Burton, Levy Godsey, Bradley Johnson and Jacob Smith was 10th.

Jordan Berardi finished eighth in pole vault; Tray Dickison was 13th and Abel Bates 15th in shot put; and Henry Dalton was 20th in discus.
