Rheumatologist joining Putnam County Hospital

Putnam County Hospital is excited to announce that beginning on July 16, we will have a rheumatologist joining the hospital. Dr. Hassan I Ahmad, MD (Board-Certified Internal Medicine, Board-Eligible Rheumatology)

Dr. Hassan Ahmad grew up in Fishers, Indiana. He completed his undergraduate degree from University of Michigan. He obtained his medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine. After this, he completed his internal medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

He has completed his fellowship training in rheumatology at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center where he served as the chief fellow in his final year.

He comes with expertise in autoimmune diseases and inflammatory arthritis, with focuses in treating rheumatoid arthritis, crystal arthropathies, sjogren’s syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus, osteoarthritis, vasculitis, and myositis. Dr. Ahmad is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, American Medical Association, and American College of Physicians. Dr. Ahmad is fluent in English and can also speak Urdu/Hindi. In his free time, he enjoys reading, walking, playing tennis, and traveling.
