Silver Lining Players meet June 18

The Silver Lining Players are a script-in-hand theater group that meets the first and third Monday of the month from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Putnam County Museum. The next meeting is June 18. All seniors are welcome.

They have three plays in rehearsal: “Up Words,” “Overtones” and “A Matter of Husbands.”

Sandy Steinem will be playing the actress and Karen Temple, the much abused wife, in “A Matter of Husbands,” by Fernc Molnar.

Linda Ford and Kathy Stephan are two “ladies” in “Overtones” by Alice Gerstenberg. Their alter egos, who say what they really think, are Carol Moore and Martha Wharton.

The third play “Up Words” was written by the mother of one of the players, M. K. Verhein. Her daughter Kace Huber will be playing Lucille; Bill Weiland is taking the part of John.

Plays will be performed at nursing homes and other venues throughout Putnam County. Karen Smoger has written some original poetry, and local musician Lenora Bowlby will be playing the harmonica for these first three plays.

Another play in the works is “Love Letters,” to be performed by husband and wife duo, Karen Temple and Ben Dulaski. It will be presented at the museum as a fall fundraiser.
