Dogs do not like the Fourth of July

As we prepare for the Fourth of July celebration, it is safer to keep our four-legged friends at home, in a safe and familiar environment. Dogs can be startled by the loud noise of fireworks. If they are crate trained, put them in a crate, cover with a blanket to make them feel secure.

If your dog seems overly anxious, spend some time with him, speaking soothingly to help him relax.

Block outside sights and sounds by lowering the blinds and turning on the television. Play soothing music in the background to counteract the sounds of fireworks.
