Clovers take on South Putnam in season-opener

The Cloverdale boys and girls cross country teams traveled to South Putnam Tuesday evening, Aug. 21 to take on the host Eagles. The Lady Clovers were unable to post a team score due to not enough runners and the CHS boys fell to the host squad, 32-23.

Cloverdale sophomore Lily Monnett won the girls race with a time of 23:39.4. Senior Chelsea Edwards was second in 25:01.2 and junior Maci Couch was third in 25:37.8. The Clovers fourth runner, Abigail Bernard, finished in 32.20.9.

The boys race was won by Austin Rumley of South Putnam with a time of 18:08.3.

Freshman Brady Koosman was the top finisher for Cloverdale, placing third with a time of 19:34.4. Seth Geiger was fifth in 20:12.3, Chase Ashcraft seventh in 21:00.6, Rylan Hall eighth (21:16.7), Nate Nees ninth (21:39.8).

Other Cloverdale runners and their times include Josh Beikman (23:29.7), Elliott Williamson (23:42.8), Nate Monnett (25:29.5), Ray Bates (25:34.3) and Grant Maners (27:49.5).
